Christmas Island is 2300 km from Perth, 1400 km from the nearest part of the Australian mainland, 1300 km from Singapore and 360 km from Jakarta in Indonesia.

For you budding navigators out there this means that the township area is at about 105 degrees 40 minutes East and 10 degrees 25 minutes South - pretty close to the equator and pretty close to being just over a quarter of the way round the earth from Greenwich.
